Wet chemical extinguishers are ideal for tackling deep fat fryer and cooking oil fires (Class F). In addition they tackle general household fires (Class A). In addition, the ABF foam extinguisher is also capable of fighting Class B fires fuelled by burning liquids such as petrol and solvents.

Wet chemical extinguishers

These extinguishers are used for pan fires and deep fat fryer fires. The wet chemical extinguishers deploy a fire fighting foam gently on top of the burning fat using a long lance which keeps the extinguisher operator safely away from the fire. The foam cools the oil and cuts off the oxygen supply. Wet chemicals are insatlled in industrial kitchens and where large amount of frying oil is kept hot.
